Heat Wave Hits Rhineland-Palatinate

Published: 2024-07-21

High temperatures are expected in Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland this weekend, with the German Weather Service (DWD) predicting highs between 30 and 34 degrees Celsius.

On Friday, temperatures will range from 29 to 32 degrees, while Saturday could see peaks of up to 34 degrees.

However, the DWD warns of potential thunderstorms and heavy rain starting Saturday afternoon and continuing into the night.

Sunday will bring cooler temperatures, ranging from 24 to 27 degrees, along with more rain and possible thunderstorms.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated and avoid strenuous activities during the heat, as the heat can pose health risks.
