Germany Faces Heavy Rain This Weekend

Published: 2024-07-31

This weekend, Germany is bracing for heavy rain as a low-pressure system moves in from the west.

The German Weather Service (DWD) warns of rain and thunderstorms, particularly affecting regions from Rhineland-Palatinate and North Rhine-Westphalia to Brandenburg and Saxony.

While southern areas may initially enjoy dry weather, showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop later in the day.

Temperatures will range from 20 to 33 degrees Celsius, with the warmest conditions in southeastern Bavaria.

Residents are advised to seek shelter during storms and avoid open areas, especially near tall trees or metal structures.

The weather is set to remain unstable, marking a stark contrast to the summer's earlier warmth.
