Germany is set to experience a sudden surge in temperatures, with the mercury expected to hit 34 degrees Celsius in some regions.
The German Weather Service (DWD) reports that hot North African air will bring summer-like conditions to most of the country on Tuesday.
However, this heatwave will be short-lived.
A cold front is forecast to move in from the west on Wednesday, bringing clouds, showers, and potentially severe thunderstorms.
While temperatures will remain high initially, especially in the east, unstable weather patterns are expected to persist in the coming days.
DWD meteorologist Christian Herold warns that a stable high-pressure system with continuous sunshine is not in sight, suggesting a continuation of this changeable summer weather.
